Intertech @ IHS Markit - A Conversation on Faith and LGBT+ Identities

Continuing our Intersectional Stories theme, we would love to invite you to IHS Markit to join us for a conversation around LGBT and faith. We have invited representatives from various faith communities to share their experience in this intersection. We look forward to seeing everyone engage with us in a night of thought-provoking and respectful conversation.

Our speakers on the evening will be:

Abdi Duale (Moderator) - Public Affairs Specialist in London and South East

Abdi is an active member of LGBT+ Labour and Fabian Society think-tank. He has spoken in students' unions across the country about his experience as someone with multiple identities being a black Muslim.

Dalia Fleming - Executive Director of KeshetUK

KeshetUK works to create a world where no one is forced to choose between their LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans) and Jewish identity. KeshetUK is the only charity in the UK working with Jewish schools, youth and young adult organisations, synagogues, and wider community organisations about the importance of LGBT+ inclusion through education and training.

Revd. Jide Macaulay - CEO of House Of Rainbow CIC

Reverend Jide Macaulay is an openly gay British-Nigerian born in London, a Christian minister since 1998, a dynamic and an inspirational speaker, author, poet, pastor and preacher, HIV Positive Activist, holds a degree in Law, masters degree in Theology and Post-graduate certificate in Pastoral Theology. He has won several awards including the 2003 and 2007 Black LGBT Community Award for "Man of the Year" for his work helping people of faith.

Mubeen Ahmed (He/Him/His) - Education Officer at Hidayah

Mubeen sits on the management committee of Hidayah as an Education Officer. Mubeen is a from London and works in Management and Training in the Education sector. Hidayah provides support and welfare for LGBTQI+ Muslims and promote social justice and education about the Muslim LGBTQI+ community to counter discrimination, prejudice and injustice.
